Near-record temperatures this weekend in Washington

SEATTLE (AP) -- The National Weather Service says this will be the hottest weekend of the year so far in Washington with temperatures near record highs.
Forecasters expect highs in the lower 90s Saturday and Sunday in Western Washington and over 100 in parts of Eastern Washington including Yakima and the Tri-Cities.
The National Weather Service sees a classic pattern for hot weather in the Northwest: a strong ridge of high pressure and weak offshore flow.
Forecasters say high temperatures could approach the records at Sea-Tac Airport. For Saturday June 28 that's 91 degrees set in 1995 and for Sunday June 30 it's 93 set in 1987

Bring it on Washington...show this Californian just whatcha got!!

Nine Months

Olivia turned nine months old yesterday...that is crazy to me! The months just keep flying by! I take her for her check up tomorrow, I can hardly wait to see how she's grown. She is crawling all over the place and pulling herself up every chance she gets. She still only has two teeth but somehow manages to eat just about anything (see popsicle pics below), some of her favorites are avocado, toast, cheerios and string cheese. Her dad likes to sneak in the REAL good stuff - waffles with syrup and pop through a straw (that's what they call soda in Washington, still can't get used to that one!).

Yesterday I took her swimming for the first time. She was hesitant when we stepped in, part of that was that it was a little cold, but once she got used to it and figured out that she could scoot from the edge into the water, there was no stopping her.

Here's a short video...sorry I had the camera turned the wrong way, but you get the idea. That is my friend/neighbor Jill...she has the pool!!

She did not like this floatie thing...lately, she doesn't like anything that confines her!

Nothin' like a popsicle to top off a pool day!

Steve Tyrell

Saturday night Steve Tyrell came to Yakima! Most of you would know his songs from the Father of the Bride movies ("The Way You Look Tonight") I was really excited that he would come here of all places. I had seen him two previous times in LA - at the Catalina Club in Hollywood and the Canyon Club in Agoura and he was great..this time was no exception. And thanks to my friend Jill, we got VIP passes to sit front row and then meet him backstage afterwards. He was so nice. I told him to say hi to the Valley for me (He lives there)!

It was a fun girls night for Debbie, Grandma, Jill and Me! An exciting concert for our small town. Here are some more pics:
