I Love My Luckys!
Indulge me a moment...I have to brag about my Lucky Jeans, namely my maternity ones. I think they're pretty much my favorite part of preganancy. I'll admit, they were a little out of the single income, small town budget we try to live by, but that husband of mine he just knows when a little extra change goes a long way. I invested (ahem) bought these when I was about seven months pregnant with Liv and I never looked back. They stretch, sit low and never cease to put a spring in my step! I dug them out today and smiled as I pulled them all the way up! Hello lil Maggie (that's her name on the tag). My bump is happy as can be resting atop that wonderful invention called the elastic waistband (can I get an amen!?). Yes, the bump is officially out there since Bri commented on it last night for the first time. Don't we love it when the men take notice! At least this means I'm transitioning out of the questionable phase and into the yes-you-can-ask-when-I'm-due phase. Ok, ok I'll get around to posting a pic of it one of these days!

Mark Driscoll in the NY Times
I have been MIA in the blogosphere lately...not really sure why. Life has certainly settled down since our whirlwind holidays and family vacations. Maybe it's the gloomy weather, I don't think the sun has shined for more than a week now!!
Many of you know Mark Driscoll, the pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle. He is one of my favorite pastors, albeit controversial to some, you can not argue with his strong theology. I had the privilege of being interviewed for his first book, Radical Reformission. That was a huge honor for me as his teaching has had a tremendous impact on my life! I wanted to share this article that was recently featured in the NY Times (shocking). Brace yourselves, some of his language and topics are a little harsher than your average Evangelical preacher, but I applaud that he deals with topics that the Bible addresses but many pulpits brush over. It's long but worth the read!

Cabo!
Wow...has it really been over two weeks since I've blogged? I don't think I've ever gone that long! We've had a busy few weeks of travel - Seattle to LA, LA to Cabo, Cabo to LA, LA back to Seattle...whew!! Our first week with my family was great, we got to see my extended family which is always full of laughs and fun. There is something about family that although you go long stretches without seeing each other, you can always just pick up where you left off! We all agreed that Facebook helps us all keep in closer touch!
On New Years Eve we headed to Cabo with Brian's family. We stayed at an awesome resort and just reveled in the fact that we were all together in a sunny and warm place. This is definitely something I've come to appreciate now that I live in snowy/cold winters. We ate, we laughed, we vegged and made memories - all the things that vacations are made of. Thank you Debbie and Craig for such a wonderful trip. I feel so honored to be a part of your family. What a gift you all have in having each other!
We flew back to LA the following Wednesday and had planned to fly out the next day. Unfortunately (or not, hee hee!) we had to stay another day as all the ways back to our house were closed due to major flooding ALL over the state! We made it back late last night...so, back to reality - routines, work, housework, cooking, laundry and cold. But a New Year, a new baby to come, and new adventures with our little Livi! Can't wait to see what '09 brings.
Here are some pics from our time in Cabo!
