8 Months

Olivia is 8 months old today. It seems like she does something new everyday at this age! Already she has one tooth, she loves food (avocado and yogurt are her faves, I think), she isn't crawling yet, but is just about there, she waves, and blows kisses!

She is a joy, at times a challenge, but we can't imagine our lives without her!

Cousins!

Here's a cute photo of Olivia with her three big cousins Morgan (8), Kendall (6) and Carson (2)!! She loves them!

Photo courtesy of Jennifer A. Sharp and her fabulous new camera...wouldn't it be put to good use on HER blog HINT HINT!

*Today I am thankful for new jeans via a Nordstrom gift card (thanks B!), the cute sweatshirt Jen bought me that is keeping me warm in this weird weather, catching up with old friends and a drive up the street for some good 'ol Golden Spoon! Yummy!

My Poor Unremarkable Quirks

This is the week of tags...fun! And I have no way of connecting my camera to the computer in Cali, so it's all words this week!! Leigh tagged me...here are the rules:

* Link the person who tagged you.
* Mention the rules in your blog.
* Tell about six unspectacular quirks of yours.
* Tag six bloggers by linking them. (They shall be "it")

So here we go:

1. I can't stand anything "messy" on my bed!! This would include...shoes, suitcases, baby spit up (as of late), and any other foreign objects that don't belong on a bed! Don't remind me of bacteria, and bed mites - what I don't know won't hurt me!

2. I fear all things high rise - pants, roller coasters, buildings...well, except the Space Needle, that was cool and the 26th floor of the W hotel. But that's it!! I will never sky dive, bungie jump or hang glide, more power to all of you that would.

3. I am addicted to the internet. AMEN Leigh! I love email, IM, blogs, Facebook, websites, and all things .com. It really could be a deadly sin in my book.

4. I love facts and the more random they are the better I retain them. I try and watch Jeopardy as much as possible and at least one out of every time it's on I shock my husband with an answer...a really good one. I love being better than him at SOMETHING.

5. I really don't like Olives and how ironic that it's my daughter's nickname. Seriously, it is my least favorite food and I've tried countless times to enjoy them. Black, green, Greek or Spanish, if I was stranded somewhere and it was all that was left to eat, I'd rather starve.

6. Lip gloss, stick, or balm are never far out of my reach. I think I own at least 10 varities and there is one in many a pocket or purse in my house.

There it is; there I am. I'm tagging the following: Tami, Julie P., Julie D., Michelle, Cherie, and ALL OF YOU...I'd love to read your responses!!

What I Was Doing...

Ok, I was tagged! This time by Cherie (I'll get to yours too Leigh!) Here goes...

What I was doing 20 years ago today (May 19, 1988)

I was finishing up sixth grade at Parkman Jr High, probably worrying about the dilemmas of the day - boys, clothes, and how I was going to spend my summer vacation. AHHHHH...those were the days!

What I was doing 15 years ago today (May 19, 1993)

Taft High School...holla to all my HS girls!! We were ending our JUNIOR year, anticipating "ruling the school" as Seniors and driving our cars all over town. Mine was a burgundy Escort! New Kids on the Block was in my cassette player and I was probably trying to pass Chemistry! I'm glad those days are over...

What I was doing 10 years ago today (May 19, 1998)

This one really makes me feel like time has flown! This day ten years ago I was starting the summer before my last year at CSUN, working at CPK in Tarzana and looking forward to my first trip to Seattle in the fall for Jen's wedding!! This would be where Brian and I met, although he says it was before that!

What I was doing 5 years ago today (May 19, 2003)

Fast forward five years, I was working for The WB Network, and making more frequent trips to Seattle (are you noticing a pattern here?), since my husband peeks at this blog occasionally let's just say that year is a blur and the thing I remember most about 03 is that I FINALLY moved out of my parents house and up to Valencia with my good friend Monica. This was the start of a really great time of my life!

What I was doing a year ago today (May 19, 2007)

A year ago today I was five months pregnant and had just found out that I was having a baby girl, who I quickly named Olivia! Life moved so fast that year - a move, marriage, a house, a baby...wow, talk about a whirlwind! I wouldn't do it any other way though. I moved to a small town from the big city and married the man of my dreams! And although I'm still adjusting to all of my life changes, I think it has been a time of growth for me. It's forced me to grow up, think outside of myself and focus on my relationship with my husband and this little life God has entrusted us with. The responsiblity of that just blows me away!

Ok, now it's your turn...I want all my blogger friends to try this! It's fun to sit and think back!!

My First Mother's Day!

I had THE best weekend in Seattle for Mother's Day! Brian took us to The W Hotel, Downtown Seattle for a weekend of all my faves - spending time together, being in the big city, shopping, eating out and a stay at my favorite hotel, complete with the Mother's Day perks, Bliss Spa body products and champagne! It was a wonderful time!!

Bliss is the Best!

The Bear they left in the room for O!

It's a long way down...we were on the 26th floor

Daddy's girl

Mini-me in the making

View of Alki...a typical gray Seattle day!

Thank you Brian for such a great weekend! I Love You!

Happy Monday!

A baby girl...one of the most beautiful miracles in life, one of the greatest joys we can ever know, and one of the reasons why there is a little extra sunshine, laughter and happiness in your world today.
